Randolph woman charged for welfare fraud, grand larceny after not reporting income

JAMESTOWN — Kristie D. Brown, 27, of Randolph, is charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud and related charges on Tuesday after not reporting her household income.

From May 1, 2014 to Sept. 30, 2014, Brown allegedly didn’t notify the Chautauqua County Department of Social Services her household income. This allowed Brown to receive $2,138 in unentitled SNAP/food stamp benefits.

Brown was additionally charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and misuse of food stamps and was issued appearance tickets to Jamestown City Court to answer the charges.
