Special to the OBSERVER

CORTLAND — A pair of SUNY Fredonia teammates that joined the 1,000-Point Club this season have now been named to the All-Conference team, as announced by the State University of New York Athletic Conference on Tuesday. Jenna Einink (Westfield/Chautauqua Lake) was named Second Team, and Jacque Law was named Third Team.

Einink, a junior, most recently joined the 1,000-Point Club in the team’s final game. She led the team with 14.3 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per contest. She ranked third in the conference in scoring and ninth in rebounding.

“Jenna faced double-and triple-team defensive pressure again this season,” said head coach Linda Hill-MacDonald. “She was again one of the top performers in the conference. Scoring her 1,000th point was inevitable and I am so happy that she was able to achieve that milestone during her junior season. I am proud of her accomplishments and look forward to seeing what lies ahead for her senior year.”

With one season remaining, Einink ranks No. 1 in school history in blocks (121) and is 12th all time in scoring at 1,002 points. Her 555 career rebounds is ninth, and she has recorded 15 double-doubles in her first three seasons.

Law, a senior, led the team with 80 assists and was second to Einink with 12.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. She also led the team with 125 free throws, shooting 78 percent from the line, and stands atop the Blue Devil career list in free throw attempts (468) and makes (361). She ranks eighth all time with 225 assists, and ninth in scoring at 1,083 points.

Of her senior leader, Hill-MacDonald said “Jacque was, without question, the hardest working player on our team. The fact that she has been recognized by the conference coaches as one of the top players in the league is a tribute to her commitment to excellence.”
