WESTFIELD — Andrew Baribeau had himself a day not only producing in the paint, but also holding down the fort on defense with eight blocks in Westfield’s 51-50 victory over Clymer (8-12, 3-9) in CCAA Division 2 West boys basketball.

The game came down right to the wire and Baribeau produced pivotal moments to help get his team the win.

“We had a couple of chances at the foul line. Nate Culbreth tied it, and the later Andrew Baribeau made a free throw to put us up one late,” Westfield coach Bob North said.

“(Clymer) then got the rebound and called a timeout with 4.3 seconds left. They tried to make a play at half court but the pass went out of bounds. We got the ball and time expired.”

Baribeau finished the evening with team-highs in points and rebounds with 17 and 10, as well as the eight blocked shots. Michael Johnson followed suit with 10 points and four assists, Shawn Horr dropped 10 and Nathan Culbreth — now playing back from injury (tailbone) — had seven points, five rebounds and two assists respectively in the win.

Westfield (11-8, 7-5) plays their next game at home Thursday, against Forestville.
