Bradley second in butterfly at SUNYACs
BUFFALO — Fredonia senior Bill Bradley (Dunkirk) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly on the final day of the SUNYAC Swimming & Diving championship meet at the Flickinger Center on Saturday. In the finals, Bradley turned in a time of 1:56.17. He was second to Cooper Knapp of New Paltz who set a new conference and meet record of 1:49.01.
Bradley qualified fourth with a preliminary time of 1:57.47.
Graham Jones was fourth in the 1650 freestyle finals in a time of 16:47.89.
The Devils had four swimmers in consolation finals Saturday night.
Senior Nathan Link was 16th in the 200-yard backstroke 2:06.03, sophomore Cameron Criss 14th in the 100-yard freestyle 48.35, freshman Drew Page 16th in the 200-yard breaststroke 2:19.55, and junior Jonah Adeson 11th in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:03.41.
The quartet of Jones, Page, Criss, and Ben Chatley finished seventh in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:15.05.
Noting his teams’ improvement, head coach Arthur Wang indicated that out of 138 performances, 88 were personal bests between the men and the women over the weekend.
The Blue Devils finished in sixth place out of nine teams. They were edged out by fifth-place Buffalo State by a just three points, 301-298, giving the Bengals two points in the Battle by the Lake.
