Every FHS team member scores in win over Falconer

FALCONER — Every member of the Fredonia Lady Hillbillies scored in a 67-32 high school girls basketball victory over Falconer Thursday.

Maddie Goss led Fredonia with 12 points as the team upped its record to 6-4 in CCAA West 1 divisional play and 6-11 overall. The rest of the team’s scoring line was almost in numerical order: Kazlin Beers had 11 points, A’Cetta Farriat scored 10, Katie Price contributed nine, Ally Walton-Bald netted eight points, Bre Rosen had seven and Hannah Gullo scored six. Gracie Morrison had four to round out the scoring.

“We just played very good team ball today,” Fredonia coach Carol Zirkle said. “We did a good job moving the ball around and running the offense. At times our defense was very good. I’m happy with this game.”

Beers also had six rebounds, six assists and six steals. Walton-Bald also grabbed six rebounds, as did Farriat, who also made three steals. Price dished out four assists.

Sarah Disbro led Falconer (4-15, 0-10) with 12 points, while Chelsea Vincent had eight points and jayvee callup Courtnee Peterson scored six for the team.

The teams have a familiar opponent next: Each other. They play Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Fredonia High School in a game rescheduled from earlier this season due to snow.



SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sherman Lady Wildcats beat the Cassadaga Valley Lady Cougars in CCAA West 2 high school girls basketball action Thursday.

Zoey Charette led Sherman (13-7, 8-2) with 25 points, also making four steals. Emily Starceski scored 10 points and brought down nine rebounds for the team, while Maggie Myers grabbed eight rebounds and swiped four steals and Hannah Murdock brought down seven rebounds.

Cassadaga Valley (4-15, 0-9) got 13 points and six rebounds out of Heidi Williams, while Brooke Repine scored 10 points and made seven rebounds for the team. Kaylee Pattyson added six rebounds.


FREWSBURG — The Westfield Lady Wolverines topped the Frewsburg Bears Thursday in a CCAA West 2 high school girls basketball game.

The visitors (7-11, 3-6) got 18 points and 11 rebounds from Sophia DeMarco, while Laura Johnston had 11 points for Westfield.

Dani Gray led Frewsburg (7-11, 5-5) with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Gabby Iuculano, Kayla Carlson and Amanda Dilts each scored six points for the team.

Frewsburg’s next game is a non-league contest Tuesday at Allegany-Limestone. Westfield’s next game is also a non-leaguer on the road, set for Monday at Forestville.
