The Franklinville Lady Panthers moved to 16-0 on the season with a 77-56 non-league girls high school basketball win in Fredonia on Saturday.

Dani Haskell, who leads all Section VI girls in scoring average with 25 points a game, scored 34 and added five steals for Franklinville. Her sister, Allie, had 23 points and nine rebounds. Abby McCoy added 10 points for the Lady Panthers.

“I was very happy with how we played the first half,” Fredonia coach Carol Zirkle said. “We were down 34-28 at halftime. I thought we played good defensively and good team ball. We showed a lot of improvement over our last game (a 20-point loss to Chautauqua Lake on Thursday).

“In the second half we didn’t play bad, but that’s when Dani sort of took over,” Zirkle continued. “She scored 21 of her 34 in the second half. … She’s a very good player, the best we’ve seen.”

The Lady Hillbillies (5-10) were led by Katie Price’s 17 points and six rebounds. A’Cetta Farrait netted 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Kazlin Beers contributed eight points and five rebounds, for Fredonia.

Fredonia’s next game is Tuesday at Maple Grove.
