Cassadaga Valley takes two on the golf course

SINCLAIRVILLE–The Cassadaga Valley golf team edged out two victories by defeating Silver Creek by a score of 31.5 to 23.5 and beating Forestville/Pine Valley 28-26 Thursday afternoon at Cassadaga Valley Country Club.

The match featured a pair of medalists, including Cassadaga Valley’s Titus Miller and Silver Creek’s Connor Daniels, who both shot a 38.

“Excited to see that the boys who qualified for states shot very well today,” said Cassadaga Valley coach Jodi Hossman. “A lot of young golfers are improving on their scores and that’s very exciting to see as well.”

Cassadaga Valley also got solid contributions from Garrett Catanese (52) and Tyler Pacos (52).

For Silver Creek, they dropped a pair of matches by also narrowly losing to Forestville by a score of 27.5-26.5. Silver Creek’s top golfers aside from Daniels included Andrew Hill (47) and Joe Bowers (68).

Forestville/Pine Valley split the matches during the day. Brock Ricketts (40), Hector West (47), and Phil Narraway (49), all had good days on the course.

Cassadaga Valley returns to the course Friday as they face Chautauqua Lake, which will feature two of the area’s top golfers–Titus Miller and Kole Maytum.

“It’s going to be exciting Friday to see [Titus] and [Kole] go at it,” said Hossman. “It’s going to be fun to watch.”

The match is set to tee off at 3:15 p.m. back at the Cassadaga Valley Country Club.
