CL/Sherman/Westfield wins 3-Man Tourney

FORESTVILLE — The combined Chautauqua Lake, Sherman and Westfield team won the CCAA Division 2 West 3-Man Tournament on Wednesday at the Tri-County Country Club.

The team had a score of 252, while Forestville took second place with a 269. Maple Grove came in third with a 303. Silver Creek’s 314 and Cassadaga Valley’s 352 rounded out the field.

Kole Maytum from CL/S/W was medalist with a score of 76. Silver Creek’s Connor Daniels grabbed second place with a 78, while Brock Ricketts of Forestville was third with an 81. CL/S/W’s Justin Wiemer placed fourth with an 83 and the fifth-place finisher was Maple Grove’s Ben Lockwood with an 85.

The tourney results mirrored the regular season, which CL/Sherman/Westfield dominated with a perfect 12-0 record. Maytum was named Player of the Year and CL/S/W coach Steve Johnston was named Coach of the Year in the annual season-ending poll of division coaches and officials. CL/S/W also won the Team Sportsmanship Award and Maytum also took the Individual Sportsmanship Award.

The First Team includes Maytum, Cassadaga Valley’s Titus Miller, Lockwood, Daniels and Ricketts. The Second Team is Darien Swanson, Derrick Martin and Wiemer of CL/S/W, along with Phil Narraway of Forestville. Chance Meeder of CL/S/W, Cassadaga Valley’s Tyler Pacos and Forestville’s Hector West garnered Honorable Mentions.
