GOWANDA — Two girls from Fredonia High School competed Wednesday at Gowanda Country Club in the Section VI qualifier for the state golf championships.

The Lady Billies’ Caroline Cameron shot a 113 and Ashley Holt carded a 116 in the event. Neither made the top eight, which would have sent them to states at Bethpage State Park June 1-3.

The medalist was Melanie Green of Medina with a 74, 13 strokes ahead of her nearest competitor.
