Babe Ruth WS seeks volunteers

JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown Babe Ruth World Series committee announces it is looking for individuals/groups to assist and participate in events for the upcoming World Series to be held in Jamestown from Aug. 4-11. This will be the 17th time the Jamestown World Series Committee has hosted a World Series since 1980. This year’s tournament will involve players ages 16-18 who will be competing for the title of World Series Champion. The list below will encompass things we are looking for at this time. All additional information can be found either on our website or social media sites.

— PARADE: Saturday, Aug. 4 at 9 a.m. traveling across 3rd Street from Hallock to Jamestown High School. Volunteers are needed to help organize the parade on the morning beginning at approximately 7:30 a.m. Businesses or organizations who would like to participate by walking, riding or organizing a float are also sought.

— NATIONAL ANTHEM SINGERS: looking for groups or individuals willing to perform acapella at games.

— HONOR GUARD: looking for groups willing to present the colors of our nation before each game.

— PRAYER and INVOCATION: Looking for religious leaders to come offer a prayer before a game.
