Silver Creek upends North Collins, 54-28

NORTH COLLINS — The Silver Creek girls basketball team won their fourth game of the season on Friday, beating North Collins 54-28 in non-league action.
The Black Knights were led by freshman Abby Rice, who poured in a whopping 28 points while grabbing 14 rebounds to help her team. Sixteen of Rice’s points were accounted for in the first quarter, she made an impressive four 3-pointers in the early going.
“We started off with a great first quarter,” said Silver Creek head coach Tammy Rice. “We pressed and got points in transition. The first quarter was a dream.”
Jaeleigh Cruz added 11 points and six steals for Silver Creek. Emma Rice also pitched in five assists and rebounds.
Silver Creek (4-1) will return to action Wednesday when they host Depew.
The Lady Eagles effort was led by Makenna Williams with nine points and Cianna Tobia with eight.
North Collins (1-4) returns to action Monday when they host Ellicottville.
