Devil divers sweep at home Invitational
Two Fredonia senior springboard divers were victorious in all four competitions held over the weekend at the Blue Devil Invitational.
Meghan Bartlett won the 3-meter competition Saturday and the 1-meter on Sunday. Aaron Carlson took down both titles, too — the 1-meter Saturday and the 3-meter Sunday.
Bartlett had a winning score of 466.85 points in the 3-meter — 39 points ahead of Brockport’s Meghan Kilgallon. Fredonia’s Sam Kowalewski was fourth with 377.30 points.
In the 1-meter, it again was Bartlett topping Kilgallon, this time 427.35 points to 399.10 points. Kowalewski was fifth with 366.05.
On the men’s side, Carlson started his weekend with a 40-point 1-meter win over Brockport’s Gabe Arias — 470.95 to 430.95 points. Jake Storms was fourth and Christian Krasnek sixth with 390.60 and 335.85 points, respectively.
Sunday’s 3-meter competition saw Carlson top out with 502.30 points, again followed by Arias with 458.80. Krasnek finished fourth with 397.85, with Storms in fifth with 394.60.
Both Bartlett and Carlson were NCAA national runners-up at the 2016 meet.

Men fourth, Women
sixth at Blue Devil Invite
The Fredonia men were fourth and the women sixth at the 2016 Blue Devil Invitational, which ended Sunday night.
Bill Bradley (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) finished third in the 100-yard butterfly, and Graham Jones was fourth in two events, the 200 freestyle while teaming with Jake Favret, Bradley and Liam Jones in the 400 freestyle relay.
Other top eight finishers for the men were Liam Jones, fifth in the 100 butterfly; Troy Lubanski, fourth in the 400 individual medley; and Adam Clouthier, fifth in the 200 breaststroke. In addition, Patrick Woods won the 100 butterfly consolation final.
Allegheny edged Penn State Behrend by seven points for the team title.
On the women’s side, Alyson Baumann was seventh in the 400 individual medley and Caroline Bilotti eighth in the 200 breaststroke.
John Carroll was clear of the rest of the eight teams for the women’s team title.
