Two charged in Fredonia armed robbery

Two local residents were taken into custody following an armed robbery early this morning.

According to Fredonia Police, around 2 a.m. officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred on Cushing Street. The victims of the robbery provided police a description of the suspects. A short time later, police said they observed two individuals matching the description traveling at a high rate of speed, fleeing the neighborhood of the reported robbery.

After a brief pursuit of the suspects’ vehicle, a felony traffic stop was conducted.

Steven A. Glenn, 31, of 343 Central Ave., Fredonia and Norman Geddis Jr., 18, of 608 Main St., Dunkirk were arrested. A search warrant was obtained from Fredonia Court of the suspects’ vehicle. Police allegedly secured two loaded handguns and several articles of stolen property.

Glenn and Geddis were both charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of criminal use of a firearm, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and one count of fourth-degree stolen property.

Glenn and Geddis were arraigned before the village justice and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail. Bail was set for Geddis at $150,000 cash/$300,000 property bond bail. No bail was set for Glenn.
