Clymer-Sherman-Panama wins Class D Football Championship

SYRACUSE — The Clymer-Sherman-Panama Wolfpack completed their dream season in style today, winning the Class D state championship wtih a 26-6 victory over Moriah at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.

CSP’s defense held Moriah scoreless until midway into the fourth quarter, including only 89 total yards in the first half. That defensive effort allowed CSP to overcome a slow start offensively in which the Wolfpack turned the ball over three times. Its only score in the first half came on a 32-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Hinsdale to Cam Barmore.

The floodgates opened in the second half for CSP, however, when a 4th-and-21 hook and ladder from Hinsdale to Barmore to John Swabik resulted in a touchdown with 10:42 remaining in the fourth quarter. Then, Robert Overton plowed in for a 3-yard touchdown run followed. Morian scored its lone points on a 4-yard touchdown pass with 5:20 remaining, but Michael Beatman sealed the game with a 13-yard interception return for a touchdown.
