Lily Dale Assembly presents: TIBETAN MONKS PERFORM CLOSING CEREMONY, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Fire Hall, $55. Limit 150. The monks conclude the creation of the Mandala with the consecration ceremony. During the closing ceremony, the monks dismantle the Mandala, sweeping up all the grains of sand to symbolize the impermanence of all that exists. When requested, half the sand is distributed to the audience as blessings for personal health and healing. The remaining send is carried in a procession by the monks, accompanied by guests, to a flowing body of water, where in a ceremony they pour the sand to disperse the healing energies of the Mandala.
