MAPS Bird Banding Demonstrations, 6 a.m. to noon, Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown. Weather permitting, drop in any time to walk side-by-side with ornithologists. Learn how they capture birds in mist nets, weigh, measure, identify, fit them with a uniquely numbered band, then set them free. Free. Donations accepted.

Laurel Memorial Run/Walk, check-in 7 a.m., Silver Creek Village Square. Variety of ways for people to participate. Registration $20 until July 16, $25 after. Run, walks start at 8:30.
