The men of the church will sponsor a Sahlen’s hot dog sale starting at 10 a.m., which includes a hot dog, bag of chips, bottle of water and bag of cookies for $4. Items also sold seprately. The Hanover Center Fire Department will receive 50% of the yard sale proceeds and 100% of the hog dog sale proceeds.

Fredonia Farmers Market

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday mid-May through October on Church Street, downtown Fredonia. It features a variety of vendors, with special events TBA. A number of vendors accept EBT, NYS Farmers Market Nutrition checks and WIC vegetables and fruits checks.

Community gathering to celebrate the 111th birthday of Lucille Ball

Lakeview Cemetery. Lucille Ball’s grave, Jamestown, 9:30 a.m. Enter the cemetery through gate number 2, follow the red hearts and white line to Ball’s grave. Free event, open to the public. Cupcakes, water and possible a few games and an opportunity for people to share what Lucy means to them or discuss a favorite episode.

“Ronnie’s Way” 5K benefit for Ron Graham

Jackson-Taylor Park, Eleventh and Washington streets, Jamestown. 5K run at 10 a.m., followed by :hot-shot basketball at 11 a.m., community walk at 11 a.m., community lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Live music by disc jockey Jim Bloomquist, and Steve Davis and Friends from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds will be used to help defray Graham’s medical expenses in his battle with stage-4 gastroesophageal cancer.

2022 Vintage Book and Paper Show and Sale

Chautauqua Suites, 215 West Lake Road, Route 394, Mayville, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 20 different dealers on hand selling a large variety of items including rare books, first editions, modern items, post cards, photos, local and other items. $5 admission fee. Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes.
