Delicious food, wonderful prizes, live entertainment and plenty of games will be featured at the Blessed Mary Angela Parish Summer Festival. The event will be held on Sunday on the St. Hyacinth’s School grounds at 295 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk.

Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue will be served from noon until 4 p.m. The cost is $10. The dinner includes chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh green beans, tossed salad, dessert and beverage. The booths will be stocked with great prizes donated by generous parishioners and friends. Featured booths will include appliances, variety, theme baskets, toys, wine and lottery baskets. Meat tray raffles will be held throughout the day. A mega bake sale will be held in the school gymnasium.

Kids World will provide games and entertainment for the children. Bell jar and games of chance will be available for the adults. New this year will be 50/50 bingo. To satisfy a different taste, there will be an outdoor food/beverage tent. Patrons will be able to enjoy Tony’s waffles while listening to the music of the Kokomo Time Band playing from 1 to 4 p.m.

Tickets will be sold for a $2,000 cash raffle as well as a special prize raffle. Some of the special prizes include a handmade flower card, multiple gift certificates, outdoor furniture, pressure cooker, weed eater, portable grills, handmade afghans, filled insulated picnic bag, wooden Buffalo Bills mascot and many more.

A hand-stitched quilt and shams made and donated by Susan Crandall will be awarded to one lucky winner.

Chairperson Paulette Pacos said, “My committee has worked very hard to make this the best festival ever. I hope the community will join in the fun while supporting our parish’s main fundraiser.”
