STOCKTON – Edna Bajdo, well-known in the Westfield and Mayville area, celebrates her 94th birthday on Aug. 7. The Stockton Star Rebekah Lodge 395 is commemorating her 94th birthday with a card shower. The group is asking local residents to send cards to Edna Bajdo, c/o Stockton Star Rebekah Lodge 395, P.O. Box 112, Stockton, N.Y. 14784.

Edna lives in Westfield with her husband Ray. They have been married 48 years.

She has a son Clair (Paulette) Bajdo, daughters Susan Sortore and Patricia (Richard) Lundquist. She has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Janet Bajdo Kell passed away in 1984. Edna also has a sister, Pauline Winslow, who will soon celebrate her 92nd birthday.

Edna Dascomb Bajdo was born Aug. 7, 1922 into a family of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. As a teenager, she couldn’t wait to be a member of Theta Rho, the teen sorority of the Rebekahs. She then joined the Rebekahs on May 16, 1945.

In her 71 years of membership she has held many different offices on the local and state level, culminating in her “Decoration of Chivalry” in 2000, one of the highest honors bestowed by the state organization. She always had support from her family for all her efforts.

Edna was a member of Chautauqua Lodge #529 until they consolidated with Stockton Star Rebekah Lodge 395 in 2013.

Edna is also a member of Westfield Women of the Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary.

The goal is 94 cards.
