Audubon Community Nature Center open the day after Thanksgiving

Submitted Photo Shopping at the Blue Heron Gift Shop, at the Audubon Community Nature Center.

JAMESTOWN — Walk the trails. Visit Liberty, the Bald Eagle. Share the day with loved ones. Give and receive the gift of memories.

At the Nature Center’s Blue Heron Gift Shop, one might find a book that will both entertain and expand knowledge or a nature puzzle that can be assembled together, something that will remind visitors of a special day and extend it into the holiday season.

Those who can’t resist shopping will find a collection of fascinating items. In addition to wonderful books and puzzles for children and adults, great gift possibilities include distinctive jewelry, notecards and stationery, shirts, jackets, puppets, handcrafted walking sticks, toys, stocking stuffers, Conewango Blend birdseed specially formulated for local feathered friends, and locally-made soaps, jams and jellies.

Nature Center hours on Black Friday will be 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Usual winter hours for the building are 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays. Nature Center admission is $6 or free for children and Friends of the Nature Center. Sunday is a free day for the building.

There is no charge for outdoor activities, and admission is always free to the Blue Heron Gift Shop.

Friends and supporters of Audubon Community Nature Center are reminded that on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation will match all gifts to Audubon up to $25. For details, visit auduboncnc.org/publicprogram/giving-tuesday.

Audubon Community Nature Center is at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren, Pennsylvania. To learn more, call 569-2345 or visit auduboncnc.org.
