City of Dunkirk announces winter recreation programs

The City of Dunkirk’s Recreation Center at the Chautauqua County Fair-grounds opened Monday. The Rec Center will be open for four months again this season. Toddlers up to adults can enjoy everything from open gym, to soccer clinics, to birthday parties to a walking program. The Rec Center has something for everyone.

For adults, AM Walk will continue again Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Walking is only $1 per day or a punch card with 14 walks for $10. Adults can also play pickup hockey and pickup soccer.

Area youth will be able to continue their soccer skills with soccer clinics running for grades K through 12. A competitive indoor soccer league will also start up this year. The popular “Playday” will continue in the mornings. It is  also possible to book a team’s practice or a birthday party.

Two new events will be an “Activity Night” on Saturday evenings for kids. Also, youth flag football games will be played.
