April events set at the North Collins Public Library

NORTH COLLINS — April is Library Awareness Month!

Here are the many events happening at the North Collins Public Library in April:

Every Friday at 11 a.m. – Storyhour and crafts with Miss Alice.

Monday, April 2 at 6 p.m. – Buffalo Animal Adventures. They will be presenting the “South American Rainforest Program.” Come and see these amazing animals and learn new things about them!

Monday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. – Fairy Tale Engineering for ages 6 to 10. Help fairy tale characters solve problems with hands-on projects! Help Rapunzel escape and Jack and the Beanstalk stay out of harm’s way. Registration required.

Wednesday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. – Book Club. This is an adult Event. Join in for an engaging discussion of “The Whistling Season,” by Ivan Doig.

Tuesday, April 17 at 5:30 p.m. – Eldercare Finances by Ginny Kowal. Learn useful strategies that will help to plan for Long Term Care basics, Medicaid and Medicare.

Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. – National Bat Day Storytime. Join in celebrating National Bat Appreciation Day! This fun-filled children’s program will have bat-themed stories, crafts and games.

Tuesday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m. – Craft Night in the Library. All Ages. Join in this fun event for all ages and make Spring Yarn Monsters! Come and be creative, making monsters with different features and sizes.

Sunday, April 29 at 1:30 p.m. – Special Sunday Afternoon Movie. Come to watch this highly-acclaimed movie starring Dwayne Johnson where four teenagers are sucked into a jungle-themed video game. Free popcorn!

Special Display from April 2 to 15 – Woman’s Suffrage. These five “window shades” are a traveling exhibit made available to us by the Western New York Library Resources Council and created by NY Heritage, Humanities NY, Empire State Library Network and others. These panels share interesting facts about the time period and movement.

All of these events are FREE and open to the public.
