A Christmas Luncheon meeting of the Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution was held at Webb’s Restaurant in Mayville on Dec. 1 with 15 DAR members present. The meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m. with the opening ritual performed by

Regent Brenda Johnson prior to the Annual Christmas Party, as there was important business to conduct as well as enjoying the party!

Brenda Johnson, Regent and Lisa Sedlmayer, Chaplain, conducted the official ceremony to induct two new members into the Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. We are honored to have Linda Blodgett and Elizabeth Stobb join us in our Mission of Historic Preservation, Education and Patriotic Service. Now, they are Official Members of the Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution! Welcome!!!

Work continues on our 120th Anniversary Celebration at Chautauqua. We will meet at Barbara Pietro’s home at 1 p.m. on Jan. 10 to continue with the planning for the celebration. Money was collected for Christmas at the Tamassee DAR School in South Carolina in lieu of gift giving at the party this year.

The next regular meeting is March 7 at the Patterson Library in Westfield at 1 p.m. If you had an ancestor that fought for freedom in the Revolutionary War and would like to join us, please call Barbara Pietro at 366-4600 or email jbpietro@gmail.com.
