Collins Public Library monthly events for December

COLLINS — The Collins Public Library, located at 23241 Main St., Collins, has announced its programming for December. When reservations are needed, the library can be reached at 532-5129.

Quilting with Florence: Every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come join these knowledgeable ladies as they work on projects!

Friends of the Collins Public library Meeting: Saturday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. There are applications in the Library or come to the meeting. Always looking for enthusiastic people who love their library.

Lap Sit with Miss Abbie: Mondays, Dec. 10, 17 and 30 at 10:30 a.m. Join in for this fun program for children ages 6 months to 2 years with a caregiver. A great introduction to early literacy skills with rhymes, finger plays, music, stories and more. Sign up required.

Craft Club: Monday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. Come and make crafts in the library! This month’s theme will be gingerbread crafts. Ages 4 to 12. Stop in or call to register.

Evening Book Club: Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. Discuss “Astrophysics for People in a Hurry,” by Neil Degrasse Tyson. Can request a copy on line or stop by the library desk.

Thomas the Train and Friends Christmas Story Hour: Thursday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. Enjoy Thomas Christmas stories, train crafts, a fun train snack and train games. Ages 2 to 7. Sign up is appreciated.

Toddler Time: The next 3 week session of Toddler Time begins Friday, Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. Read stories, play games, sing songs and have a snack. Ages 2 to 5. Call or stop in to register!

Tinkering in the Library! Saturday, Dec. 15 at noon. With different rotating activities each month, there will be new things to explore. Fun for the whole family. Stop by or call to sign up.

Christmas Cookie Decorating: Monday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. Come and decorate your own Christmas Cookies! Cookies, decorating materials, and decorating ideas are provided. Open to all ages. Sign up is required by Dec. 13.

Book Club: Monday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. Discuss “Where’d you go, Bernadette?” by Maria Semple. Can request a copy online or at the Library Desk.

LEGO Club: Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Come and play with LEGOs in the library. Staff will put your creation on display in the library. Ages 4 to 12. Registration required, call or stop in.

Christmas Movie: Thursday, Dec. 20 at 5 p.m. Join in for a family-friendly Christmas movie, popcorn, and a small craft. Fun for the whole family! Sign up is encouraged.

Closed: The library will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25 for Christmas. It will re-open on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 10 a.m. Use the “Book” drop or renew online at www.Buffalolib.org.

New! Young Adult Book Club: Thursday, Dec. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Discuss “White Queen” by Victoria Aveyard. Request a copy online or at the library desk.

Creative Crafts for Grown Ups: Saturday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. Make a sock snowman. All materials are provided, but registration is limited. Ages 18+.

Closed: The library will be closing early at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31. It will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1. Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Erie County Library cards are available to all Erie County residents, all individuals who work in Erie County, and all those who live in the Gowanda School tax district. Library Hours: Monday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday – CLOSED.
