Local schools compete in Media One High School Bowl match

Frewsburg Central School defeated Silver Creek Central School 89-28 in a recent Media One High School Bowl match at Jamestown Community College.

In another match, Ellicottville Central School defeated Gowanda Central School 98-33.

Austin Anderson of Frewsburg and Louisa Benatovich and Abby Sonnenberg of Ellicottville earned Player of the Match honors.

Frewsburg team members included Ian Conner, Caleb Barber, Jordan Clark, Shannon Estus, Veronica Nowak, and Alyssa Lobb.

Silver Creek was represented by Garrett Castle, Joseph Bowers, Austin Manning, Bailey Watroba, and Danaceus Maybee.

The Ellicottville team included Alex Hunt, Adam Silvernail, and Jalee Evans.

Skyler Capozzi, Ceili Lipp, William Sylvia, Patrick Strawder, Samanatha Kinnaird, Tatum Stitzel, and Tyler Dankin comprised the Gowanda team.

High School Bowl, now in its 58th year, is produced by Media One Group in cooperation with JCC. Sponsors include the JCC Alumni Association, SKF Aeroengine-North America, Chautauqua County Humane Society, Honest John’s Pizza and Wings, Pepsi, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Marsh Appliance, the Weinberg Financial Group, and Delta Kappa Gamma, the International Honor Society of Women Educators.

High School Bowl airs on Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. on radio station WJTN and at 8:30 a.m. on Sundays on radio station WWSE. Matches can also be heard online at radiojamestown.com/podcasts.
