TOWEL BINGO SET FOR MARCH 12

BROCTON — The Preceptor Beta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi is sponsoring its 20th Annual Towel Bingo at the Brocton American Legion,Post 434, 110 W. Main St., Brocton from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 12. Doors open at noon.

A variety of colorful bath and beach towels are available for winners of this unique bingo game. A Chinese auction and 50-50 drawings will be held during the afternoon and a variety of delicious treats, punch and coffee will be served during intermission.

Money raised from this entertaining event is donated locally throughout the year to assist families, individuals and organizations in need of financial help or going through difficult times.

SNOWSHOE WALK, GATHERING SET FOR SATURDAY

STOCKTON — The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will be holding a guided, leisurely snowshoe walk and campfire gathering at its Cassadaga Creek Wetland Preserve on Saturday from 4:15 to 6 p.m.

Twan Leenders, CWC Director of Conservation, will lead the walk — weather permitting — beginning at 4:30. Non-snowshoers can remain by the campfire and socialize with other staff and attendees during the walk time. After the tour, all are invited to stay and warm up by the fire and enjoy complementary hot chocolate and coffee. Attendees are invited to bring their own beverage and a snack or a snack to pass if desired as well as a chair for sitting around the fire. In the event of no snow, a regular nature walk will be offered, and the campfire will go on as planned.

The preserve is located on Bloomer Road off County Route 380 between Harvey Road and South Stockton-Cassadaga Road (County Route 71). GPS coordinates for the preserve are 42∂14’37.2“N 79∂18’31.0”W. Directions and a map can also be found at chautauquawatershed.org/preserves. Participants should note that the preserve is not accessible from the Sinclair Road/Route 60 side.

The event is open to the public and free for CWC members, with suggested donations for non-members of $5 for individuals or $10 per family. Attendees will need to rent or bring their own snowshoes. RSVPs are required and can be made by calling 716-664-2166 x1001 or emailing info@chautauquawatershed.org with a contact name, number of people attending, phone number and email address.

BENEFIT BREAKFASTS PLANNED IN WESTFIELD

WESTFIELD — Pancake breakfasts to benefit local organizations have been planned for the coming months. The menu includes pancakes with sausage and sausage gravy over biscuits with coffee tea or juice. A cash donation will be accepted from 8 to 10 a.m. Benefits are: Saturday for the food pantry to purchase feminine products diapers and formula; March 4 for the Apple Seed Nursery school; April 1 for the United Methodist Church. The event will take place at the United Methodist Church.
