CHAUTAUQUA – The entertainment line-up for Week Six offers presentations that will spark all interest levels.

The week begins with free admission to the grounds on Sunday. WRFA-LP 107.9 in Jamestown. will bring its ongoing series “Rolling Hills Radio,” featuring live musical performances of original work from local, regional, national and internationally recognized artists to the Amphitheater stage for its season finale. Parking is free until 1:30 p.m.

David Simon, a Baltimore-based journalist, author and television producer, will take the Amphitheater stage on Monday at 8:15 p.m. The nonfiction books he wrote while a reporter with The Baltimore Sun – Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets and The Corner: A Year in the Life of an Inner-City Neighborhood – became the basis for the NBC drama “Homicide” and the HBO miniseries “The Corner.” “The Wire,” a subsequent HBO drama, aired for five seasons from 2002 to 2008, and depicted a dystopic American city contending with a fraudulent drug war, the loss of its industrial base, political and educational systems incapable of reform and a media culture oblivious to all of the above. The fourth and final season of Simon’s latest series, “Treme,” about musicians in post-Katrina New Orleans, will air later in 2013. Simon also does prose work for The New Yorker, Esquire and The Washington Post, among other publications.

On Tuesday, The Billy Jonas Band will perform on the Smith Wilkes stage for Family Entertainment Series at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The band’s creative and interactive performances will entertain people of all ages. Billy Jonas has shared the stage with many renowned artists, including Alison Kraus, Peter Yarrow, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Paul Winter and Justin Bieber. The band’s upbeat, engaging presence encourages active audience participation, and it’s free to enjoy.

The Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of guest conductor Paul Polivnick on Tuesday evening at 8:15 p.m. Chautauqua vice president and director of programming Marty W. Merkley will narrate the performance.

North Carolina Dance Theatre in Residence presents an evening of innovative and exciting dance on Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. World-premiere choreography will highlight an evening of the dramatic and fanciful in contemporary dance.

Guest conductor Uriel Segal will lead the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra on Thursday at 8:15 p.m., with Jolyon Pegis joining the orchestra on the cello.

A Prairie Home Companion’s Radio Romance Tour 2013 will perform in the Amphitheater on Aug. 2 at 8:15p.m., starring host and writer Garrison Keillor. The performance will also feature singer and fiddler Sara Watkins, comedian Fred Newman, Rich Dworsky and The Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band with guitarist Pat Donohue and violinist/mandolinist Richard Kriehn. The audience will experience two hours of duet singing, improv with sound effects, poetry and more.

Saturday’s 8:15 p.m. Amphitheater performance is the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra Opera Pops Concert, featuring guest conductor Stuart Chafetz and Chautauqua Opera Young Artists.

Tickets for Amphitheater performances are $40. On Community Appreciation Nights, ticket prices are reduced to $20 and Tuesday evening Family Entertainment Series performances are always free.
