Aspire’s iXpress artists present ‘As We See It’ at Ryder’s Cup

LAKEWOOD Aspiring artists from the Aspire of WNY iXpress program are hosting an art exhibit at Ryder’s Cup Coffee, 28 Chautauqua Ave. The exhibit, called “As We See It” features 16 pieces of art created by a local group of artists with disabilities and depicts how they perceive the world around them.

The exhibit, on display throughout October, contains paintings, pastels and mixed-media pieces. Ryder’s Cup is open Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Patrons will be able to relax with their favorite coffee shop beverage and available baked goods and view the artwork created by the Southern Tier members of Aspire of WNY’s iXpress program. iXpress is a local community of artists with developmental disabilities and have recently had exhibits featured at Burchfield-Penney Art Center and University at Buffalo Art Gallery Center for the Arts. Fourteen of the 16 pieces on display are still available for purchase. Proceeds support the many innovative programs and services of Aspire of WNY, Inc.
