Winter musical, concerts coming to Chautauqua Lake Central School

MAYVILLE – Student musicians will kick off their winter performances at Chautauqua Lake Central School with the annual elementary school musical, followed by three seasonal concerts. The annual Christmas Auction, bake sales, and a basket fundraiser will add to the festivities.

“The Nanny Claus: The North Pole Nanny” offers musical fun for the whole family. The musical play features performers in grades 5 and 6. Performances are at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 6. The concert series begins with students in grades 7-12 performing on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. New this year is a performance by a new handbell choir.

At intervals throughout the concert, gifts, decorations and specialty foods for the holiday season will be featured in live and silent auctions, with a bake sale as well. The annual auction is sponsored by the CLCS Music Boosters to support enrichment opportunities for student musicians.

Two elementary school concerts follow on Dec. 17, with students from kindergarten through grade 2 performing at 1:30 p.m. and grades 3-6 at 7 p.m. The Elementary Parent Teacher Council will hold a bake sale at both concerts, with the Chautauqua Lake Child Care Center’s basket fundraiser also offered to benefit the scholarship fund for that independent, nonprofit organization.

All events will be held in the District Auditorium. Admission is free, and the programs are open to the entire community. Please enter the building at the main (center) entrance.

Chautauqua Lake Central School is located at 100 N. Erie St. (Route 394) in Mayville, one half-mile north of the junction with Route 430.
