JAMESTOWN – The “Endangered Earth” film series, sponsored by Jamestown Community College’s Office of Sustainability, resumes Wednesday.

Free and open to the public, the films begin at 7 p.m. A guided discussion is conducted at the conclusion of each film.

“The Economics of Happiness” will be shown in the Carnahan Center Theatre. The film examines the impact of globalization and how communities are rebuilding ecological economies as a consequence.

On Feb, 20, “Comfort Zone” will be shown in the Lenna Teleconference Theatre in Hultquist Library. The global issue of climate change as it affects people on local and personal levels is explored.

“Bidder 70,” which focuses on civil disobedience demanding government and industry accountability, will be screened on March 4 in the Carnahan Center Theatre. In 2008, University of Utah economics student Tim DeChristopher committed an act which ignited a spirit of civil disobedience in the name of climate justice.

“Flow,” an award-winning documentary on the world’s water crisis, is slated for March 18 in the Lenna Teleconference Theatre. The film examines privatization of the world’s dwindling fresh water supply, as well as the people and institutions providing practical solutions to the water crisis and developing new technologies.
