Infinity Visual and Performing Arts welcomes three new instructors

JAMESTOWN – Infinity Visual and Performing Arts welcomes three new instructors Sandra Man-gusing, David Chatterton and Tim Bausch.

Mangusing started training at age 11 in Jamestown with Shirley Kopp in the Academy of Dance Arts. She trained in all styles of dance from ballet, pointe, primitive, pilates base technique, jazz and modern. She danced in the Jamestown Civic Ballet Company performing repertoire from Ballet Masters and Legends such as Andre Egelvsky, Oleg Brianski, George Tomal, Alexi Romav and Richard Sais and dancing in “Pa Quita,” “Airs and Dances,” “Pas de Quatre” and many more. At the age of 16, she was offered a scholarship to Alvin Ailey and asked to dance with the New Jersey Ballet.

She danced professionally with Empire State Ballet touring as the principal dancer. She was a guest artist for Inner City Ballet and Pick of the Crop and a soloist with American Festival Ballet touring mid to west coast. She also danced with the L.A. Ballet, San Diego Ballet, Stage 7 Dance Theatre, San Diego Dance Theatre, 3’s company, La Jolla Festival Ballet and several other guest appearances. Mangusing resided in San Diego with her daughter Natalie and has been happily dancing, teaching, choreographing and sewing at many companies, schools and theatres for the last 27 years. She is excited to give back in her hometown.

Chatterton is a cellist from Oswego. Chatterton recently graduated from SUNY Fredonia in May with a bachelor’s degree in music education. He is currently working toward a master’s in cello performance at SUNY Fredonia and plays professionally in the area. He has performed annually with the College Symphony Orchestra since 2008 and performed with artists such as Evelyn Farny, Dr. Natasha Farny, Dr. Erin Ellis, Tim Stolzenburg and Yo-Yo Ma. While enjoying performing his instrument, Chatterton’s main focus is teaching. He has taught all string instruments including violin, viola, double bass and cello privately for nine years. He is certified to teach kindergarten through 12th grade and beyond. Chatterton is passionate about music, performing and especially teaching.

Bausch is a student at SUNY Fredonia working towards graduate degrees in both music composition and percussion performance. He has earned several awards including the Donald Bohlen Scholarship Award, Poummit Concert Master Award and the Ethos Laureate Prize in composition. In addition to being a member of Ethos New Music Society, an organization established at SUNY Fredonia dedicated to showcasing contemporary sounds to the public, Bausch is also the technology chair for the organization.

He is a member of ASCAP and runs the publishing company, Harmonic Innovation. As a scholar, Bausch’s focus is in sound as a whole as well as its individual parts. This obsession with sound inspires an interest in professional quality sound recording and audio engineering.

In addition to capturing sound, he utilizes programs such as PureData and OpenMusic to create specific sounds through the use of algorithms and additive synthesis. He strives to combine this knowledge for sound into his compositional language through acoustic and electronic music. Bausch’s website is www.timbausch.com.
