NSAA makes a call for artists for May 16 show

RIPLEY – The North Shore Arts Alliance is making a call for artists to participate in an upcoming art show to be held at the Sensory Winery & Gallery in Ripley. The show opens May 16.

The theme of the show is “The Not So Grand Landscape.” The theme explores the discovery that there is so much to observe and depict in the individual’s smaller view, which includes landscape details and neighborhood vignettes, including people going about their everyday lives. The intention of the theme is to avoid grand landscapes and obvious locations.

All NSAA members are invited to submit a maximum of seven pieces they feel meet the theme criteria for this show. Any and all media will be welcomed.

Interested artists are asked to respond with their intent to participate to Bill Smith by email to bill@bspho.com with their intention of participating no later than April 27. Emails should include images of potential pieces and a short artist biography to be used for promotional advertisements and websites. Artists are also asked to indicate the selling price for each piece or if the items are not for sale (if NFS, please include the piece’s value for insurance purposes).

Participating artists will need to drop off their works to Sensory Gallery on May 11 between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. An opening for the show will be held May 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. and runs through June 22.

Non-NSAA artists who are interested in showing their work at NSAA shows may visit www.northshoreartsalliance.com for membership information.
