CHAUTAUQUA — Chautauqua Institution is pleased to announce highlights of its 2019 lineup of popular concerts and performers, including the newest additions of popular musical collective Postmodern Jukebox on Friday June 28, and Motown legend Diana Ross on Friday, July 5. Performances take place in the Chautauqua Amphitheater, a unique setting for an unparalleled concert experience.

Tickets can be purchased online at concerts.chq.org or by phone at 716–357-6250. Each ticket provides access to Chautauqua Institution grounds from 4 p.m. to midnight; children 12 and under are admitted both to Chautauqua and the Amphitheater free of charge. More announcements are forthcoming; a full listing of Chautauqua Amphitheater entertainment offerings is available at concerts.chq.org.

Postmodern Jukebox

Friday, June 28 at 8:15 p.m.

To usher in the upcoming 2020s, famed time-twisting musical collective Postmodern Jukebox brings its Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 Tour to Chautauqua. Founded by Scott Bradlee in 2009, p.m. has amassed over 1 billion YouTube views and 3.5 million subscribers, and racked up more than 1.7 million fans on Facebook.

Back at Chautauqua by popular demand, Rhiannon Giddens’ project with Our Native Daughters brings together three other black female roots artists, Leyla McCalla, Allison Russell and Amythyst Kiah. Their debut recording, Songs of Our Native Daughters, is a stunning 13-track album available now.

The Summit: The Manhattan Transfer Meets Take 6

Friday, August 2 at 8:15 p.m.

With 20 Grammy Awards between them, two musically iconic groups have joined forces for an unforgettable collaboration. The Manhattan Transfer are winners of 10 Grammy Awards, with millions of records sold worldwide, while Take 6 demonstrates why they are recognized as the pre-eminent a cappella group in the world.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by Wynton Marsalis, is made up of 15 of the finest soloists, ensemble players, and arrangers in jazz music today. JLCO and Marsalis will present a number of programs at Chautauqua during a weeklong residency, including an Aug. 20 appearance with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, an Aug. 22 performance of a new original composition by Marsalis, and an Aug. 23 concert of Duke Ellington’s masterworks.
