Now in its fourth year the Trinity Masterworks Choir will be offering Ralph Vaughn Williams, “Dona Nobis Pacem” on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. This free concert will be given in Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Day St. Fredonia.

English composer Ralph Vaughn Williams wrote this piece as a plea for peace as rumblings of the second world war were beginning to be heard. Using the text of several poems of Walt Whitman, writings of John Bright, politician of the day and quotations from the Christian Bible, this piece will both jar and soothe the senses. A plea for peace among nations is as applicable today as it was when the piece was written.

Approximately 40 singers from local communities, local high schools and SUNY Fredonia along with musicians and soloists Daniel Ihasz, Baritone and Lucille Susan, Soprano will be participating. Join us for an hour of beautiful music. A simple reception will follow in the church’s Garland Hall to meet the singers and players.

Although the concert is free, Trinity Masterworks Choir exists through the generosity of all who attend.
