Friday night, Oct. 18, the Probables will be hosting Uncle Ben’s Remedy for an all-ages show at the newly renovated Spire Theater, 317 Third St., Jamestown. Tickets at the Spire event are $11. On Saturday, Oct. 19, Uncle Ben’s Remedy will be hosting a night of dance, song and laughter at the Versailles Community Hall, 11703 Main Street, Versailles. This also is an all-ages show, and families are encouraged to take part in the event.

The sound of Uncle Ben’s Remedy is rooted in the small towns of western New York where community still matters and music is a part of every event. Versailles is a prime example of one of those small towns, where UBR members Jim Royce (drums), Harmony Griffin (guitars), and Ben Westlund (guitar and vocals) were raised. Together with Shawn Huestis (keys) and Brendan O’Connor (upright Bass) Uncle Ben’s Remedy rolls out an evening that is part campfire sing-along, part rock and roll show, and completely entertaining.

“It is so important for us to share that with others, and that includes other musical acts who we don’t often get to hear, because we are oftentimes working on the same night in different towns,” says Huestis. “Setting up a show at Versailles Community Hall give us a chance to do just that — share our music with the crowd, and invite others to share their music with us, and for us all to revel in the old-timey charm that is Versailles.”

Every event at the Versailles Community Hall is a family affair. Inside, from the ticket-takers to the food and beverage vendors, all are volunteers, and many come from the families that reside in and around the quaint village. They do this to keep alive that very real need for community and to allow us all to share in the very best of what life is for us all — togetherness.

Doors open at 7 p.m., music begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $8, $15 for couples, or $25 for families. Food and beverages are available for purchase.
