DuffleBag Theatre offers an interactive experience

Submitted Photo The players of DuffleBag Theatre return to Rockefeller Arts Center for the 11th time, this season with their comedic, interactive take on “Peter Pan.” The Kaleidoscope Family Series event takes place on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in Marvel Theatre.

A unique children’s theater experience will be offered when Rockefeller Arts Center at the State University of New York at Fredonia presents the DuffleBag Theatre production of “Peter Pan” on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in Marvel Theatre.

The DuffleBag actors begin performances with the retelling of original adaptations of tales like “Peter Pan.” Just when the audience becomes enthralled by the story, a twist is created. Selected audience members are asked to come up on stage and join in the action for a fun-filled, interactive theater experience.

This unpredictable performance is described as “a hilarious experience for all ages and a truly unique theatrical event in which the dream of being part of the story actually does come true.”

“Peter Pan” is approximately 60 minutes long and is recommended for ages 6 and up.

Since 1992, the “Nearly World Famous” DuffleBag Theatre has become one of the most celebrated companies in North America, thanks to its interactive storytelling productions.

With 13 different shows in its current repertoire, DuffleBag Theatre performs more than 600 times a year across Canada, the United States and internationally.

This will be DuffleBag Theatre’s 11th performance at Rockefeller Arts Center. The troupe first visited Fredonia during the 2008-09 season with a sold-out presentation of “Beauty and the Beast.”

Tickets are available through the Campus Ticket Office in the Williams Center, by phone at 673-3501 and online at fredonia.edu/tickets.

This Kaleidoscope Family Series event is part of the 2019-20 Lake Shore Savings Season. The series sponsor is the Observer and the event sponsor is Dr. Antoinette “Annette” Lukasik.
