The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will present “Leonardo: The Works,” a special cinematic exploration of the entirety of the renowned artist’s works, on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. as part of its Art & Architecture On Screen Series.

Leonardo da Vinci is widely acclaimed as the world’s favorite artist. Many TV shows and feature films have showcased this extraordinary genius; but often not examined closely enough is the most crucial element of all — his art.

His peerless paintings and drawings are the focus of Leonardo: The Works, as this cinematic production presents every single attributed painting, in ultra-HD quality, as never seen before on the big screen. Key works include: The Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Lady with an Ermine, Ginevra de’ Benci, Madonna Litta, Virgin of the Rocks, and more than a dozen others.

The film also looks afresh at da Vinci’s life — his inventiveness, his sculptural skills, his military foresight and his ability to navigate the treacherous politics of the day — through the prism of his art. This is the definitive production about Leonardo, and the first to truly tell the whole story.

The production runs approximately one hour, 25 minutes.

Individual tickets to “Leonardo: The Works” are $15, ($10 students). A special flexible subscription of eight tickets that can be used however you want — one at a time to eight different events, all at once for eight people, or anything in between — is $116. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Opera House Box Office or by phone at 716-679-1891, Tuesday-Friday, 1-5 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online anytime at www.fredopera.org.

Support for Opera House programming comes from the United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County and from the Give for Greatness program of the Arts Services Initiative of WNY.

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House is a member-supported not-for-profit organization located in Village Hall in downtown Fredonia. For a complete schedule of events, visit www.fredopera.org.
