Rev. Santandreu to conduct Men’s Fall Conference

On Saturday, Nov. 16, the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Adult Education/Faith Formation committee will host a Men’s Fall Conference.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Hope for the Future.” Father Santandreu, newly ordained in 2018 for the Diocese of Buffalo, presently serves as a parochial vicar at St. Amelia Parish in Tonawanda. As Father tells us, “These are not the best times the Church has known. What is the virtue of ‘hope’ all about?” What does it mean and how can we grow in it so as to live the joy that life in Christ was meant to be? The season of Advent is approaching and it is a great time to refocus on the virtue of hope and rediscover the confidence we should always have in God guiding his people along the way of salvation. “Hope for the future” will focus on how “in a world filled with strife, we might shine forth as a prophetic sign of unity and concord.” We will discuss the current crisis, our own estimation of the state of the church, and the pursuit of the virtue of hope that never fails.

The conference will be held at Northern Chautauqua Catholic School, which is located on the corner of 336 Washington Ave. and Fourth Street in Dunkirk. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. A $5 fee will be collected at the door. Pastries and coffee will be available. The conference will begin at 9 and conclude at noon. A luncheon will follow. To pre-register, call Frank Valone at 366-5299. Visit the website at www.seasdunkirkny.org for more information. The men’s conference welcomes all area men.
