Lakeshore Humane Society

“Lacy”

The Lakeshore Humane Society Pet of the Week is Lacy, a 3-year-old black lab mix who came to the shelter as a stray and who was heartworm positive. She is being treated and will need to continue with follow-up appointments once adopted. She has a typical lab personality, is friendly, loving and, of course, energetic. Lacy will need training, basic commands and work walking on a leash. She has been making progress at the shelter. Lacy would do best as the only dog in a home. Shelter officials ask that only those who own their own home apply due to breed and size restrictions. Those interested can visit www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org/online-adoption-form to fill out an online application. Meet and greets will be scheduled to approved applicants.

“Lily”

The Lakeshore Humane Society’s Cat of the Week is Lily, who is now 3 months old. Her look-alike mom and nearly twin littermate have both gone to forever homes this past week. She has an adorable calico littermate that is also available, and a neighboring gray tabby that is six days older. To make an appointment to see any of these kittens or available adults. fill out an application and make an appointment to visit. For more information, call 672-1991, visit Lakeshore Humane Society Inc. on Facebook or visit www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org.

Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue

Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue (NCCR) would like to thank everyone for their donations, adoptions, sponsorships and support during these trying times. Happily for the dogs, adoptions have been up as people realize that it’s a good time to adopt and get a dog or puppy used to a new home situation. Unfortunately, NCCR has had to cancel major fundraising events, but people have still dropped off cleaning supplies, canned food, toys and other items which are all appreciated. The shelter, which is located at 7540 N. Gale St. in Westfield, has not resumed their open hours, but appointments are made for approved applicants, and the rapidly changing photos of available dogs can be seen online at www.caninerescue.org. We truly appreciate everyone who has supported the shelter and helped our efforts to find stray or unwanted dogs their loving and permanent homes. NCCR is a NYS Registered Rescue #028.
