Step Up For Kids run, walk for CAP is set for May 15

The Child Advocacy Program will host its eighth annual Step Up For Kids 5K Run/Walk at Cassadaga Beach on May 15.

CAP’s mission is to end child abuse in Chautauqua County, and when abuse occurs, CAP coordinates a community response to bring healing, hope, and justice to these children and families.

The Step Up for Kids Run is an awareness event to raise funds to support CAP’s counseling and advocacy programs, prevention trainings, forensic interviews and medical evaluations. CAP has two offices, one at 405 W. Third St., Jamestown, and another at 425 Main St., Dunkirk.

Community members will need to pre-register for the 5KRun/Walk as there will be no registration available the day of the race.

There will be a number of protocols in place for the safety of our runners and volunteers.

All participants are asked to wear a mask and respect social distancing requirements.

The race is limited to 100 participants. Register online at capjustice.org or call CAP at 338-9844.

Race day begins at 9 a.m. with the 5K Run/Walk starting at 10 a.m.

Sponsors include Basil Chevrolet, Nestle Purina, Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, Moonlight Electric, Jamestown Area FCA, Ron and Cindy DiNapoli, Mary and Larry Maisto, Linda Harris, Marcia Bliss and Integrated Benefit Solutions.
