Patterson Library plans events for month

WESTFIELD — This October is chock-full of events at Patterson Library!

Author Robyn Albright will be visiting Patterson Library this Thursday at 6 p.m. to discuss her new book “Jump on the Runnin’ Board.” The book is a memoir of her father, a man scarred by the Great Depression and WWII, and their relationship over the course of six decades.

A new virtual exhibition from the Chautauqua County Society of Artists will be available starting Oct. 15 on pattersonlib.org, hosted by the Octagon Gallery.

Join us on Oct. 21 at 6:30 p,m, for “Ekstasis 2.0 Concert,” in which solo and chamber repertoire students from SUNY Fredonia will play a curated salon series of musical gems.

PFLAG will host a meeting in the library on Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Join in-person or via Zoom!

Learn how to make block prints with artist Audrey Dowling. Classes take place Oct. 26, Oct. 28, Nov. 2, and Nov. 4. Call or visit the library to sign up and obtain a list of needed supplies.

October’s book clubs are as follows: Mystery Book Club, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m., discussing “Nine Perfect Strangers” by Liane Moriarty. Wanderlust Book Club, Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m., discussing “The Lowland” by Jhumpa Lahiri. Call the library at (716)326-2154 to place your book club book on hold.

The library will be closed on Monday, Oct. 18 for staff development.
