Putnam chapter hears Navy presentation

The Alice Putnam Chapter of the Colonial Dames XVII Century met in November at the Elma Towne Grill.

It was then noted the U.S. Navy was commissioned Oct. 13, 1775, to fight in the American Revolution, and predates our nation’s founding. Lt. Richard J. Ryan from the US Naval Sea Cadet Program gave a presentation on the US Navy Program held at the USS Sullivan, highlighting the joint missions of the Colonial Dames and the Cadet Program.

A motion to support the President General Project was made by Linda Kuzara with a second by Myra Johnston, carried.

A motion to donate the cash basket to split evenly between the Buffalo Veterans Hospital, and the Batavia Veterans Hospital. Several calendars were also collected for the veterans.

A motion by Mary O’Shei to donate $100 to the President General fund in memory of the son she recently lost, to repair and upgrade the HVAC and Computer Systems at the National Building in Washington was approved.

Acting Vice President Elizabeth Mouer has all the programs for next year arranged.
