Two Jamestown men facing drug charges

JAMESTOWN – Two men are facing drug charges after an investigation into the sale of crack cocaine. According to Jamestown Police, officers executed a warrant to search the residence at 113 Willard St. Friday after a drug investigation.

Members of the Jamestown Police SWAT team entered the apartment to find Christopher J. Howie, 41, of Jamestown. Anthony W. Cunningham, 34, of Jamestown, a New York state parolee, jumped out a window in an attempt to flee but was caught by the Jamestown Police K-9 Unit.

Cunningham is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, first-degree criminal nuisance and obstructing governmental administration. Howie was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both subjects were taken to Jamestown City Jail awaiting arraignment.

CHARLOTTE James G. Hall, 33, of Sinclairville, was charged Wednesday with endangering the welfare of a child, harassment and criminal mischief after an accident on Edson Road. Hall allegedly drove a vehicle containing two children into a ditch. He also allegedly slapped a victim in the face and destroyed household property. Hall was arraigned in the Charlotte Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on $5,000 cash and $10,000 property bail.

HARMONY – Tyler J. Johnson, 20, of Lakewood, was charged Saturday with failure to reduce speed on a curve and failure to keep right after a personal injury accident on Swede Road. Johnson’s vehicle was headed south around 12:25 a.m. when he allegedly failed to slow down around a curve and lost control of the vehicle, coming to rest in a ditch. He was transported to WCA Hospital by the Harmony Fire Department for minor injuries. Lakewood-Busti Police also assisted on the scene. Johnson will appear in Harmony Town Court at a later date.

HANOVER – Katherine T. Mullis, 23, of Rock Hill, S.C., was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely and failure to stop at a red light. Mullis was stopped on Route 5/20 around 2:50 a.m. for multiple traffic violations when it was discovered she was allegedly intoxicated. She was taken into custody and released with appearance tickets for the Hanover Town Court.

ELLICOTT – Kyle D. Elderkin, 20, of Frewsburg, was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, uninspected motor vehicle and unsafe tires. Deputies spotted Elderkin’s vehicle stopped on the side of the road on Interstate 86 around 11:45 p.m. It is alleged Elderkin was intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was issued appearance tickets for the Ellicott Town Court.
