Tara E. Brooks, 33, of Middle Road, Dunkirk was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance on Monday on a warrant. Dunkirk Police Department took Brooks into custody on the warrant with information from the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force. It is alleged Brooks sold crack cocaine to agents of the task force and the arrest culminates a several monthslong investigation. Brooks was transported to the city jail pending arraignment. Additional information has been obtained as a result of this arrest and additional arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues. The task force is comprised of offices from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Dunkirk Police.
