Three from Jamestown charged with selling alcohol to minors
JAMESTOWN – State Police note that underage drinking is a complex problem, which is threatening society in many ways.
In a news release, troopers state that whether underage drinking results in impaired driving, violence, criminal activity, suicide or other harmful behavior, underage drinking is a great cost to society and robs us of human potential.
In a proactive effort to address this tragic situation, the Jamestown Police Department, The New York State Police and State Liquor Authority conducted an Alcohol Beverage Control check on Wednesday.
A total of 13 establishments were checked with 10 found to be in compliance.
There were three who allegedly violated the state liquor law by selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor.
Robo’s, Preston J Jones, 20, of Jamestown; Aero Mart, Brandon l. Olds, 21, of Jamestown; and 7-11, James J. Colburn, 30, of Jamestown were all arrested.
All three defendants were issued appearance tickets to appear in the City of Jamestown Court on Dec. 2.
