Fifth and Dove accident results in minor injuries

A Monday night accident in the city resulted in two people with minor injuries and a charge for a 22-year-old Dunkirk resident.

According to an accident report, Abigail Griffin of West Lake Road was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign around 9:36 p.m. after allegedly traveling south on Dove Street and entering the intersection with West Fifth Street, striking the passenger side of a westbound vehicle driven by Suheil Vega, 27, of Dove Street Upper.

Wandy Vega, 55, and Naziere Thomas, 3, were transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for reportedly minor injuries. The two were passengers in Suheil Vega’s vehicle.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

JAMESTOWN – Mich-ael D. Eberle, 30, of Depew was charged with petit larceny, fraudulent receipt of benefits and misuse of food stamps on Friday.

It is alleged Eberle failed to report income or employment to the Chautauqua County Department of Social Services.

This unreported income allowed for Eberle to allegedly receive $1,019 in unentitled benefits from November 2011 through January 2012.

He will appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

New York State Police at Fredonia

CHARLOTTE – On Jan. 16, while on patrol, a check of an occupied vehicle parked behind the Sinclairville Library at 11 p.m., resulted in the arrest of two men on drug possession charges and an unlawful possession of alcohol under the age of 21 arrest.

Brandon Shutt, 27, of Sinclairville, and Joshua Richter, 20, of Cassadaga, were both charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after a strong odor of marijuana was detected upon approaching the vehicle.

Both men were found to be in possession of marijuana and were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Charlotte Town Court on Jan. 28.

Richter was also charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 after he was found to be in possession of a bottle of liquor.
