¯ ELLICOTTVILLE — On Sunday, Olean Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Route 219 in the towns of Great Valley and Ellicottville. Vehicle operator John D. Swan, 58, Chautauqua, was allegedly exhibiting signs of impairment. He was administered a breath test which returned a .14 BAC. He was charged with DWI and operating a motor vehicle with .08 of one percent or more alcohol in blood. Swan was released and is due to appear in the Ellicottville Village Court in Aug.

¯ FALCONER — On Wednesday, Steven Kotch, 45, Sinclairville, was pulled over on Route 380 in Falconer for a traffic violation. Upon investigation it was suspected that he was intoxicated. After failing several tests and giving a breath sample of .14, Kotch was charged with DWI. He was later released and is due to appear in the Ellicott Town Court later in the month.

Westfield Police Department

¯ WESTFIELD — On Monday at 1 a.m., police investigated the report of a suspicious male in the area of Clinton Street. The man was identified as William E. Curry Jr., 35, Mayville. He was allegedly found to have a valid parole warrant. He was taken into custody without incident.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff

¯ PERSIA — On Tuesday at 3 a.m., patrol was dispatched to 8235 Maple Hill Road in the town of Persia for an alleged domestic disturbance report. Jeffrey A. Schosek, 35, purportedly grabbed a female by the throat, threw her against a door and began to hit her in the head. All these events were allegedly witnessed by the woman’s 12-year-old son. Schosek was charged with second-degree harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood and endangering the welfare of a child. He was sent to Cattaraugus County jail in lieu of $3,500 bail following arraignment and is scheduled to appear in the Persia Town Court at a later date.
