¯ JAMESTOWN — Merranda L. Reid, 26, of Dunkirk, was charged Tuesday with first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree welfare fraud and misuse of food stamps.

At 1 p.m. on Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies say Reid was issued appearance tickets for the charges after it was alleged that from February 2016 to July 2016, she failed to notify the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services of income within her household. This unreported income allowed for Reid to receive $2,450 in unentitled SNAP/Food Stamp benefits.

Reid is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court on a later date.
