≤ CHAUTAUQUA — On Jan. 31 at around 10:59 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on South Erie Street for an equipment violation. The operator was identified as Brian J. Little, 33, of Mayville. Further investigation allegedly found Little to be intoxicated. Little was taken into custody and charged with DWI, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18% or greater and no/inadequate exhaust.

≤ FRENCH CREEK — On Feb. 2 at roughly 4:59 p.m., deputies allegedly found a vehicle parked on a public highway on Mann Road. The operator was identified as Aaron R. Newman, 27, of French Creek. Following an investigation, deputies arrested and charged Newman with DWI, DWI per se, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and no stopping, standing, parking on public highway.

≤ NORTH HARMONY — On Feb. 2 at approximately 11:13 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for an observed violation on Ramsey Road. The operator, Dylan M. Abbey, 26, of Bemus Point, was wanted by Jamestown Police for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Abbey was also allegedly found to be operating on a revoked driver’s license. Following a search of the vehicle by the sheriff’s K9 Link, Abbey was also found to be in possession of used hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia. Abbey was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle and unlicensed operator. Abbey was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail awaiting centralized arraignment.

≤ SHERMAN — On Feb. 3 at about 1:20 a.m., deputies were called to a hotel in the Village of Mayville to assist Mayville Fire Department with a subject injured in a snowmobile accident. Upon arrival, the operator of the snowmobile was identified as John D. Karlovec, 28, of Cleveland, Ohio. Investigation allegedly found Karlovec had been operating his snowmobile on a public trail in the Town of Sherman when the accident occurred. Karlovec was transported to Westfield Hospital by Mayville ambulance. Karlovec was reportedly found to have been operating his snowmobile while in an intoxicated state. Karlovec was charged with snowmobiling while intoxicated.

≤ On Jan. 28, officers were called for a possible larceny of a gaming system, along with games and controllers. During the investigation, it was found that Justin L. Stoll, 24, of Westfield, allegedly had taken and sold the gaming system, along with the games and controllers.

≤ On Feb. 5 at around 2:05 p.m., Richard A. Harrell Jr., 31, of Westfield, was arrested on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. After a lengthy investigation by Westfield Police, it is alleged that Harrell failed to provide adequate care for his two young children. Harrell is alleged to have neglected his children’s educational needs, medical care and overall well-being.

¯ On Tuesday at approximately 3:22 p.m., Timothy M. Schrader, 32, of Fredonia was stopped in the village of Westfield for alleged traffic violations. After an investigation, it was found Schrader was operating on a suspended permits-only driver’s license.

Schrader was issued tickets for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, operating out of class, uninspected motor vehicle and improper plates. He was released with traffic tickets and will answer his charges at a later date.
