Town of Evans Police Department

≤ On March 17 at around 8:39 a.m., patrol observed a vehicle speeding on Route 20. Patrol initiated a traffic stop, and upon running the license of the driver, Kyle R. Abrahamson, 22, of Evans, patrol observed that his license was allegedly suspended. Abrahamson was taken into custody and charged with speeding and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Abrahamson was booked and released with traffic tickets.

≤ On March 17 at about 5:25 p.m., patrol was dispatched to Erie Road for a two-vehicle injury accident. Upon arrival, patrol observed heavy damage to both vehicles. Patrol made contact with Nicholas J. Krupa, 33, of Evans, who stated he was uninjured and the other vehicle pulled out in front of him. Four witnesses stated he ran the red light. While speaking to Krupa, patrol allegedly noticed alcohol on his breath, slow/impaired motor coordination, mumbled speech and red, glassy eyes. Patrol asked Krupa if he was drinking and he replied he’d had two beers over four-and-a-half hours ago. Krupa was asked to perform six SFSTs, all of which he reportedly failed. Krupa was placed under arrest and transported to Evans Police Department for booking. Krupa was advised of his Miranda and DWI warnings, where he then requested to contact an attorney. Krupa’s attorney advised him to refuse a chemical breath test, which he did. Krupa was held in lock-up until his mother was available to pick him up. Krupa was charged with DWI – first offense and passing a red light, his vehicle was impounded and three people were transported to area hospitals.

≤ On March 17 at roughly 9:12 p.m., patrol stopped a vehicle on Herr Road for failing to keep right. After running the license of the driver, Derek I. Gregoire, 26, of Hamburg, it was allegedly discovered to be suspended a total of four times. Gregoire was charged with fail to keep right – two lane road and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Gregoire was transported to Evans Police Department for booking, where he was later released with traffic tickets.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

≤ BROCTON — On March 24 at about 5:29 p.m., deputies responded to an altercation in the Village of Brocton. Deputies investigated the incident and allegedly found that Paul J. Illenz, 43, of Brocton, damaged property that did not belong to him. Illenz was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and arraigned by the centralized arraignment part in the Chautauqua County Jail.

≤ ELLERY — On March 24 at around 5:48 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Route 380 for a report of a vehicle on fire in a field. Further investigation found that the driver, Charles W. Brown, 46, of Falconer, was allegedly operating his vehicle while impaired by drugs. Brown was also reportedly found to be in possession of numerous controlled substances. Brown was charged with DWAI drugs, three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of controlled substances by ultimate users original container, unlawful possession of marijuana, using an electronic device while driving and failure to keep right. Brown will answer his charges in Town of Ellery Court on a later date.

Fredonia Police Department

¯ Walter Doyle, 32, of Dunkirk was charged March 18 with fourth degree criminal mischief and second degree harassment.

¯ Vanessa Fisher, 29, of Fredonia was charged March 21 with second degree harassment.

¯ Bryce Raymond, 21, of Jamestown was charged March 23 with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol content of .10 percent or more and failure to obey a traffic device.

¯ Jacob Seitz, 20, of Dunkirk was charged March 25 with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unsafe tire and no tail lights.
